Starting up companies could be easy, or hard. No one person can tell you the exact route to take for your venture. What I can say is this: a few simple rules can make your life a lot less stressful!

Most startup hopefuls know what the three things that lead startup companies to success – an idea, people, and giving the customers what they want.

Ideas. Paul Graham of Harvard University mentioned, “In particular, you don't need a brilliant idea to start a startup around. The way a startup makes money is to offer people better technology than they have now. But what people have now is often so bad that it doesn't take brilliance to do better.”* Ideas are there to kick start what you want to do, to address what is lacking. That is how you can attract customers. Making them feel that they need you. They need your products. Your company’s existence is essential.”

The people. Hiring people is a good way to distribute the workload of your startup. But there’s a dark side. Getting the right people can be difficult and this is not the time you want to be dwelling on whether or not the people you hired can do what you need them to do. Believe me, I know! Having working on startups of many kinds over the years when starting a company getting the wrong people/too many people or the wrong mix of people can be a nightmare!

Hiring people also makes takes resources from your company – which means, increases in electric , additional tech units, and many other additional fees that you’ll need to pay for. When you’re at the early stages try to stay lean on the overheads and keep the cash in the bank.

Giving the customers what they want. Graham noted that, “No matter what kind of startup you start, it will probably be a stretch for you, the founders, to understand what users want.” You may have what you think is the best Acme widget in the world but that may not be what your target audience may think. And how do your target audience even get to know about you in the first place?
