GoDaddy is an IT services and software provider to millions of online businesses. Several news reports stated that it was hacked by a twitter user Anonymous Own3r. But GoDaddy claimed that it was a Distributed Denial- of- Service Attack (DDoS). DDoS means that a certain website will be overloaded with tons of communication request that it can no longer respond to traffic. Then it collapses afterwards. This is what happened to GoDaddy which led to thousands of company accounts web hosting to go down. Series of questions have been raised on how effective is GoDaddy in providing web hosting solutions to its thousands of clients and prospects? Will it ever bounce back from this dilemma? Whereas for us how do we choose a good web hosting company who can cater of needs? Here are some factors you can consider before choosing one: 1. Value for Money. Let’s admit it we usually go for cheaper options. It’s good and very practical. Some prefer expensive offers from well-known companies because they have this certain reputation. So where do we go? Go for: ✓   Starting package first ✓   Detailed features and services ✓   Warranty ✓   Areas of expertise 2. Technical Aspect. Even if you know less about technicalities always put in mind first what you actually need. Then browse on the company services and testimonials that have the same problem as you do and what solution has been provided to them. Know: ✓   Technical Specs and Limitations ✓   Technical Support ✓   Features/ Add-Ons ✓   Hardware they use ✓  Email Features  3.  Scalability. If you finally choose the plan for your web hosting; see to it that you can stay with it. It should be established and it has a room for growth. That means that it can answer your needs even a year from now. Because technology is changing every time. In that case, GoDaddy DNS Attack could have been prevented. They should know that any time that their network suffers they need a strong control of the situation. They need back up plans so that they don’t lose their clients. Posted by John Joe Morgan

Online audiences do not trust so easily. This makes online marketing a lot tougher especially for beginners who have no knowledge on how it works. Most high ranking pages were only able to develop their credibility after a long while trying to convince their online public. Establishing your online reputation takes time and a lot of patience and hard work.

So how do you start building authority and improve your existing one to get better visibility?

Start sharing lots of useful content. With the internet as cluttered as it already is, it is difficult to get people’s attention. There are many factors that may create distractions so your own content gets pushed aside and ignored. People in web have a short attention span so your headlines and first few lines must be attractive.

People intend to read only a few short sentences in your article before getting bored. Make it catchy and informative. Creating a short list of tips or writing in bullets is an effective strategy.

Learn as you go along.  Don’t pretend that you can offer solutions if you really can’t. As you share information, you should also always be in search of new information not only to share, but also learn. If you are not familiar with a topic, be honest and tell them that you’ll get back to them once you know it.

In internet marketing, if you want to be tagged as a reputable site, only cite what you know and what you can do to maintain harmonious relationship with your readers.

Have a professional website. Setting up a good website connects you to millions of readers. It gives you a chance to get potential clients as well. What content you put in your website will determine your authority with regards to a topic. Start by choosing a user friendly design, reliable information, credible links, call to action buttons and contact information. Remember that your site is like a resume or CV which can be a key for your success.

When introducing yourself to a huge virtual community of strangers, how do you build genuine trust? By being well informed and being able to easily share everything you know freely. You need not to hold back instead, be honest about it. Remember, it takes years to build your reputation but it only takes one minute to lose the trust of your readers.

Be informative and original!

The web is filled up with creatively designed websites that are aesthetically admirable but not as accessible in search engines as they should be. Search Engine Optimization is a process of ensuring that your website gets found easily on search engines. Search Engine Optimization has two main types-the On Page optimization and Off Page optimization. On-Page simply refers to the components within the page. On-page elements include:

  • HTML codes
  •  Meta tags
  • Content
  •  Keyword placement
  • Keyword density

In order to rank well in natural search results, On-Page optimization must be done correctly. Below are some suggestions on how to optimize your On-Page.

1)      Correct your HTML code. Since search engines cannot read javascript or images, they fully rely on pure text alone. They search within the page’s HTML to look out on the important words. Search engines look out for HTML tags mostly to guide them on the important parts of a web page.

2)      Optimize existing content. Search engines do check on the words in your body text, that is why it is essential to have your content optimized. Incorporate your keywords and remember that formatting is also helpful.

3)      Watch your Meta Description. Meta descriptions are used to provide short description on what the site is all about in search results.  While there is an argument whether Meta Descriptions really do have an effect on search engine rankings, it is best to have one because they play an important role on search results and internet marketing.

4)      Mind your Keywords.  The keywords that you include in your site contribute a large factor on how your readers and search engines find you. Always make sure your keywords are relevant. Also, remember that you should balance your keywords. Do not stuff your website with too much keyword or else, search engines will penalize you.

5)      Add XML or Google site maps. Adding a site map makes it easier for search engine spiders and your visitors to locate the information of your site.

6)      Keep an eye on URLS. Search engine spiders also look at the URL of the page itself. The words you use and the length of the URL also significant factors. After optimizing on-page details of your website, you’ll notice the changes after a few months. A good On-Page SEO guarantees improved ranking, traffic and credibility.

The content in your website is meant to be shared like how you designed it to be. Joining and contributing to online forums is a great way to interact with your audience. Forums attract more visitors to your site so later on it will become an active and social community. You can do meet ups, share opinions and views, launch new products and add value to your sites. Here are 5 great ways on how online forums can help you increase your audience: 1.        Makes your readers your Protégé. Two or more heads are better than one. Select your active readers who have the best ideas. Make them in charge or feature their concepts. We must admit that not all our ideas match the expectations of all your readers. They need variety. So, might as well get someone who knows what your readers actually want because they are one of them. If others knew about this, they will surely participate more and be motivated to express their ideas in order to be featured next. But make sure that you give credit and simple rewards for those who devote their time sharing their thoughts with you. 2.       Drives frequent visits on your sites.  Producing content (varied ones) every day is a hard task. Sometimes you run out of ideas so there is a greater tendency that your audience gets tired of the usual stuff. Since nothing is new in your website. If you have a forum, most of your visitors who manage to view you each day will find other viewers comments interesting so you need not to produce your content rapidly. You can also get ideas from your reader’s posts and simply make the most out of that content. But always look for fresh and new ones that catch the interest of your audience. 3.       It doesn’t only attract a bigger audience but search engines as well. A good content produced gives you greater chances of driving more visitors mean more traffic to you site. Once you gain the attention of the search engine sites, you’ll get higher rankings in no time. 4.       Promote readers networking. The way to directly communicate with your readers is through blogging and online forums. It also gives you more opportunity for networking. Let your readers interact with each other apart from posting comments. Through networking you are not only benefitting from popularity and search engine visibility but you create a new community. 5.       A more personal level of interaction. Let’s admit it, not everyone who reads your blog wants to purchase or are interested in your products or services. Online forums create an atmosphere of a community where any topic can be discussed and shared. In this sense, you are able to get a unique insight on your target audience. It must be a difficult job to maintain a site with active readers and visitors. But measuring beyond what the readers can give you and what you can give to them means more than redesigning your site. Find interesting topics that can guarantee active participation to your readers. Forums are the best way to make your readers connect with you and each other. We know how to drive more visitors to your site. At The Northern Office-Innovative Marketing we make sure that we find the right forums that are interesting and could generate more readers.
